View Full Version : Underwater Pumpkin Carving Oct. 1st

My dive club, Midwest Divers, will hold their annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving this weekend, on Sat. Oct 1st, at Haigh Quarry. We will start meeting there around 8:00 and are looking into cooking-out there as well. If anyone is interested in joining us, please feel free. Just let me know so I can plan for food.

Dang - wish we were closer, that sounds like so much fun!! Fill us in on how it went - and any pictures.

Wish I could make it Juls, but that's a honey-do day. She didn't make a peep when I ordered my LP 121's, so I owe.

FYI, there's also going to be a pumpkin carving contest at Mermet on Oct. 29. I'm going to try and make that one.

I hope this works since I am a computer moron. Attached is a picture of me (in the center) with last year's pumpkin. I entered two different carvings and won both. The pumpkin has the back and top cut out so it fits like a helmet. After it was finished, I got in about 3' of water took off mask and regulator, put on pumpkin and stood up and exited water wearing the pumpkin.
Feel free to use the idea if you like it.

i might be going down to haigh to pick up my fins (dont ask!) if im am i would be up for some diving. but no pumpkin carving for me just diving.

It's the shaft of an aluminum arrow. Wired to it is a ping-pong ball with a pupil and red veins drawn on as if the eye was knocked out of the head.

I have to run up to Michigan on an emergency job for work. I am not sure the wife and I are going to make it in the morning but do plan on trying.

so for im in. but like i said im not going to do the pumpkin thing, just for diving.
im also going to be down there about 12or so so dont worry about food for us..
i cant wait to go. see you all down there...also fyi im in a tan pickup(lifted big mudding tires or a gray Xterra. chris&stacey

We will probably get there around 9 or so. Our son wants to join us so we have to drive there via way of Great Lakes. Our group usually goes to the far dock (the south dock?). We will be in an older black Toyota 4Runner. Others in our group drive a gold Equinox, a green Explorer, a tan pick-up.

Hope to see some of you tomorrow!

sorry i wasnt able to make it. had some big hose chores that i had to do. but im going to try and make it down this wensday.
