Full-face masks: I am thinking of buying a full-face mask and would like some advice or some feed-back from anyone who has one or has tried them out. I dive all winter long with a 7mm farmer john. I think I would like the extra warmth I've heard about and some of the other things like no fogging and very little leaking.

I haven tried one yet, but I know my LDS has one. I want o try it out, maybe this winter. The one bad thing I have heard about them is you go through you air quicker.

If it's extra warmth you're after, get a drysuit. That will make a lot more difference than a mask. I tried a full-face mask, and look what it did to me.

Your profile doesn't give any clue to where you live. If you are anywhere near S. IL and Mermet Springs, The Dive Shop of St. Louis is sponsoring a Whites Dry Suit and Full Face Mask demo weekend November 5 & 6. Email me if you would like additional details, so you could come down and try both.
FFM didn't do much for me when I tried it. And I don't mind having numb lips on my winter dives.

Like Bob said, I've never used one, but I have dived with a couple of buddies who were using them; seemed like they used an unbelievable amount of air, I mean a LOT of air.

I have an AGA mask and I don't notice the difference in air usage. . . I use about the same amount of air with a regular regulator. The AGA is a demand regulator and I love the ability breathe through your nose and mouth. I like it. :)
