We had about 8 or 9 people turn out at Blue Water Lake. I think a good time was had by all. The diving was okay, and if someone wanted to go back there again, I would probably go. But If I am going to drive 4 hours, I think I would prefer Penny Royal. I have a few pictures of the place I will post later once I get them downloaded. As we sat outside the place waiting for them to open, I made the comment that I felt like I was sitting outside Bonne Terre Mine. I dont want to be negative, but this place looks like a junkyard.
We all got signed in, and took a look around. There is a ramp that leads down to the water. You have to gear up on top, and walk down. The first dive we did was me, a good friend of mine and Wally from this board. We did a 128 foot dive for about 36 minutes. We dropped down on the SS Bud. Then we followed the road up over a few boats, and then up to the plane. From the plane, we went out and took a look at the car pile. At that point, we turned the dive and came back. Our second dive took us to a max depth of 100 foot, and we got about 42 minutes out of this one. It was pretty much just a wall dive. We saw some of the caverns, but the vis wasnt good enough to take a look inside, plus I dont think Wally is cavern certified. So we just stayed on the outside. We was gearing up for a third dive, when a little storm came through. That was about 3 o'clock, so we decided to call it a day.
Sunday morning, we got up and me and my friend Mike drove down to Table Rock and met up with my cousin down there, and got in a dive at the damn. (yes Bill, I spelled it that way just for you) After that dive, we decided to call it a weekend and come on home.
