Is there a NSS rule that only allows 2 training dives a day, or is that just all anybody wants to do? I have asked several people, and nobody knows for sure, but most think it is just the way the class is taught. The reason I am asking is I am going down for my Cave Intro in November, and will be down there all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and have to start heading back somewhat early on Sunday. I would like to get Intro and Apprentice done in that time, but the dive schedule doesnt work out for me.

Not sure about the NSS standards on number of training dives in one day.
But -- cave training is typically done at the pace the instructor feels is comfortable rather than the schedule that is most convenient for the student's travel schedule. Want more training, you have to stay more days; or even better, make a bunch of dives to practice your new skills and return again at a later date to advance your training.
You can do a LOT of cave diving with an Intro Cave cert. Nothing wrong with doing both levels back-to-back, but no urgency to do so either.

We did three dives per day the first two days and two per day thereafter. I had a NACD instructor though.
Just be sure that apprentice is what you want to do. The way I understand it, apprentice is a provisional cert that last for one year. If you don't complete full cave within the year, you go back to intro status and have to repeat the app training. Combining app and full cave seems to be the norm.
Who is your instructor???

I would like to get as much out of down there as I can. If it doesnt work out for me, I will just do Intro, do a lot of Intro cave dives, and sometime next year when I have more time, I will go back and finish off Apprentice and Full Cave.
My instructor is John Orlowski . He has agreed to start our class on Thanksgiving day. That surprised me.

Suprising... Maybe he's a shift worker for his other job. I've worked on Thanksgiving and Christmas for probably the last 20 years... Good money.. Usually 3.5x pay... But, He's probably not getting that for the class.. LOL
