Diving Wazee this weekend (8-13&14)

My and a buddy will be at Wazee this weekend. This will be his first OW outing since we took the class together & my second. Anybody else going to be diving there?

I would normally be able to, but am on call on the 13th and will be starting my AOW in Lake Owen on the 14th. Maybe next time though. Have fun - be safe!

What did you think of Wazee?

My class was canceled so I drove down Sunday with the family and dove the wall off the campground with my wife. We had lunch and then dove from the far boat landing to the beach with my daughter...so far that is my favorite area of the lake. More fish and tree's above the thermocline.

My buddy & I had a good time. We dove off the south boat ramp. We found a lot more fish to the east of the ramp, so that's where we spent most of our time. We picked up a can of that squeeze cheese in a can & used that to feed the fish, it worked out great. We had a huge green sunfish eating out of our hands, they were much more aggressive than the bluegills. We were even able to see some trout, however thay were very shy & didn't give you much of a look.

We did go down to 35 & 43 feet on a couple of dives, but the visiblity was not very good & all we could see was some rocks & each other. The water temp at that depth was 61 deg, so far this was the coldest water I have been in so far & it was not too bad, although the second deeper dive we did felt much colder than the first & it was 1 deg warmer at 62 deg. I don't know if I will be able to go diving again this year or not, but I can't wait until I can go again.
