Hello from cave country. We (a bud and I) are on site in cave country taking cavern and intro/cave classes. Since I had managed to slip out of town and off the board, I considered not posting anything until I got back. My thinking was that if I came down and flunked the class, I wouldn't post anything at all. The high speed internet at Cave Excursions was just too tempting; I just couldn't help getting on and posting something; now the pressure is on.
Two dives done today and I'm feeling a little humble. More to follow. steve

Thats awesome.
I am glad to hear you are humbled. That is a very good sign in technical diving, as you well know.
Looking forward to your updates on the class.

It not about being gods gift to diving. At those beginning levels its more about having the right attitude, recognizing where you are at, and where you need to be. Intro is the foundation to get you into the cave so you can learn and practice more on your own...

Mini report:
Dennis and I made it home from Lauraville. We both passed the class. We got in 12 dives (4 cavern, 8 cave) by diving a couple of days after our class ended. Our instructor stayed on and dived with us.
Since many of the springs were closed, all dives were done in the Peacock System with the exception of two dives at Manatee.
It's quite an understatement to say I learned a lot; most importantly, I learned that I have a lot to learn and practice.
