I am told that you are not allowed to dive doubles in Florida State parks. Does anyone know the reason or logic behind this law?

Don't know where you are getting your info from, but people dive doubles in FLA state parks all the time. Peacock Springs, for example, is a major cave diving spot and a state park.

Seriously, though, what you may have heard is that Cavern and Intro Cave divers are not allowed to dive doubles into the caves. But this is not a law or regulation, it is a policy of some of the agencies/instructors. Others give their blessing to diving doubles but limit your penetration to 1/6 of your gas supply rather than the usual 1/3. Neither of these are "enforced", but both are good safety procedures.

"We can do the class in doubles. The only drawback is if you come to Florida and dive in a commercial or state park you have to be in singles. "
I will definitly inquire further about this.
