I was wondering if there is a good rule of thumb for weighting. I am ptetty close on weight for my 7mm wetsuit, but I just got a 7/5 hyperstrech hood (with bib) & some 7mm deep see Ti gloves & was wondering about how much extra weight I should add. I know you are supposed to check your weight at the end of a dive, but I don't want to add way too much to start with.

Depends on how "close" you had your weighting worked out with the wetsuit, but typically nothing needs to be added for hood and gloves.
I'll bet if you float your hood and gloves in the tub and put a 1 lb. weight on them you'll see that it is way more than what is needed to sink the neoprene.
The only way you would need more weight is -- if you now plan to dive in way colder water because of the hood and gloves, and jumping into cold water makes you want to hold a big breath of air in your lungs while you are trying to descend. :) Really!

I agree with everything TS said. I think if you was to upgrade to a hooded vest though, then you might need to tack on another pound or two. But like is was stated earlier, that depends on how close to being right on you are inthe 7.

The only way to get your weighting right is to get in the water and experiment. Everything else is just educated guesses.
