My spot is marked in the classroom, and tomorrow I will be making my reservations for this class over Thanksgiving weekend. I am pretty excited about this. I have had my eyes set on cave diving since I did my OW class.

Proceed carefully. Highly recommend that you read Sheck Exley's "Blueprint for Survival". Best advice and a good reminder of how much you are risking on each dive.

Funny you should mention that. I just order it, along with the video "A deceptively easy way to die" and also "Cave Diving Communications."

I do plan to proceed very carefully with this. As I stated, it has been something I have had my eyes on since OW, I waited until I had over 100 dives to do Cavern, and I will have well over 300 dives logged before this class begins. I have asked many people I dive with if they think my dive skills are good enough to take on a class as challenging as this one, and everyone I have talked to agrees I am ready. I know I havent done any dives with you in a few months, but do you agree that my skills are there yet? Always looking for more opinions.

Yes, DDB, your skills are definitely up to par for undertaking this class. And I know that you have respect for the additional risk involved. Dive safe and enjoy the great beauty that awaits you in the tunnels.

I received my books and video today. Althought the video is only 8 minutes long, it doesnt take long to drive home its message. I think I am going to donate it to my LDS to show before he does his annual cavern class this year. The books I am going to have to put on the shelf for a few weeks until I finish my AI though.
