I just ordered a drysuit. I went with Bare, b/c that is what my LDS carries, and I want to support them...of course, I got a discount too, so I can't complain. I hope to get together with a lot of you later this year when the weather turns colder, and all of my regular dive buddies have packed up their gear until next summer. I can't wait to try it out. I'm taking it to Beaver Lake on the 15th of July. My LDS is having a class, and I have a feeling it won't be long before I am the most experienced dry suit diver there. I think this might have been the first dry suit my LDS has sold!

Way to go, Kent. Now you can dive Oronogo and Table Rock with us all winter. When your dive buddies see how much year-round fun you're having your shop will sell several more drysuits. At least that's how it happened at my LDS.

You won't be sorry. Dry is the only way to go for year-round diving. I still consider my drysuit to be my one most treasured piece of dive gear.

Ok guys I need a Midwest opinion. I'm thinking about a crushed neopreme drysuit. Don't ask me why - no real reason. What is the difference between the different styles?

Thanks

Becky-

I have a Diving Concepts Neo Z crushed neoprene suit. I really like it and it is warm in Lake Michigan. I don't know if I'd go so far as say I get cold easily, but I can safely say I am not one who is ever too hot in the water. I have never tried a shell or trilam suit so I can't compare the 2 personally. I just got the one I did because it seemed like it would keep me warmer in water below 45 degrees.

Julie

PS- Its the suit I'm wearing in my profile picture.

I got the HD tech trilam. I tried the neoprene, and I wasn't happy. Don't know why, it most likely was the fit. Seemed like I could have had another person in there with me...hey, wait a minute :)
