Yesterday's trip to the big pond with N'Pursuit was a fine get-togeather until the weather went south. Present were myself, Steve 2281, his friend Mark also from Paducah, recman21, Mverick (who you may know from that OTHER board), and our own benefactor, Atlaua. The deal was Friday night at Trump's hotel, and four tanks on Saturday. It was the first trip to lake Michigan for most.

I caught a ride with Atlaua, and I'll leave it up to him to describe the ride up. Let's just say it involved a country and western Karioke bar and no food. The rest of the crew, never having been there before, all got lost trying to find the hotel and did self guided tours of Gary, IN. They are all recovering nicely from the experience.

The day started out misty and warm, the lake very flat. The morning dives were the Material Service barge at 22-38' and the Louisville at 60'. Viz was good for lake Michigan at 15-20' and everyone agreed that they were great dives, although most of us got a bit chilled by the 47 degree water on the Louisville.

After an overly long lunch at Resorts casino (formerly Harras) next door to the marina, we returned to the boat and got the storm advisory: 70 MPH winds and nickel sized hail coming our way. We voted to call the afternoon dives and Capt. Mike adjusted the price, although I could see a tear in his eye as he refunded the dough. Naturally, as soon as we had packed our vehicles for the trip home the storm missed us completely and the sun came out.

I think we can all agree on the high quality experience on the N'Pursuit with Mike and his in-water DM Dave. They know their stuff and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that everyone has a great time. The mechanics of getting the divers prepped and on and off the boat is impeccable, and Dave's briefings before the dives were both thorough and helpful. We all started making plans for a return trip.

I think that pretty well covered it, except for some guy wearing a pink tank, laying in a bathtub at 50'. Picture to follow.

Good report Ken. Mike runs a great operation, and I look forward to going back soon. Best dives I've had within 1000 miles of home.

Aside from the fact that Ken is a closet karioke fan and the cruel tricks mother nature played I couldn't ask for a better trip.

Next time I'll want to plan 6 dives, with 2 on Sunday morning. If we had done all 4 I don't think the trip home Saturday night would have been feasable.

I agree with everyone. This was the best!

Capt. Mike and Dave do indeed go the extra mile to make sure that everyone has a fun, safe diving experience. This was only my second Lake Michigan boat dive (with the first being on Moneysavrs boat to dive the Niagara off Belgium, WI. Thanks Brad! Great Dive!)

I enjoyed every minute of this trip, great weather (for the first two dives), great dive buddies, great boat and crew and great diving, it doesn't get any better!

Lake Michigan weather....the wildcard!!!! But living around here we know that!!!

Two words.....

Let's Dive!!!!!!!
