Just got back from Beaver Lake, doing a dry suit class for the first time. I know I don't like the Dry Suit I had, but I did enjoy diving with it. The shop owner had a TUSA neoprene 3.5 mm suit, that he ordered in. Talk about a p.o.s. If all suits are like this, I would never buy one. The boots were this crappy rubber that wouldn't compress, so there was always air in the feet. Tried doing the frog kick, but unfortunately I have split fins, so it wasn't the best. Sure wish I would have found this board way before I got certified, I would have bought different equipment for sure.

This first dry suit experience was bundled into the first weekend of my Divecon training at the lake. It is so much fun to see new divers and remember how excited I was at that point and look back at how much weight I used back then. It was nice to be able to pass on what I have learned, not only from diving, but from you guys as well. I think I may be having to get a Bare dry suit, so that it is at least something that the folks can order from our dive shop. I will just have to get it special made and hope for the best. Has anyone tried one of these suits?

Oh, and the lake was about 56 degrees at 80 ft, and I didn't feel it at all :) The visibility was horrible though, in fact it was probably the worst I have seen. We dove Reynolds foundation wall, and the bluffs, and they were both very poor. Saw some nice sized catfish, so maybe the visibility was worth it.

Kent do you dive from Lost Bridge Marina side? (I think that is the name of the marina)
Congrats on diving into the Dive Con course :D. I think I am going to put mine off for awhile.

It's 3 am, and I am heading to Beaver lake in less than 8 hours...2nd lake weekend of my Divecon class. Only 2 ow students this time, and a fun diver that was certified last time I was at the lake. I guess he must have had fun.
