Does your dive shop offer discounts for those of you that are DM's/Divecons and up? Just wondering, b/c I recently saw dealer cost on Drysuits, and am thinking of taking a Divecon class.

mine does, but I understand that not all of them do.

Also be aware that the discounts are usually for WORKING Divemasters and above. Taking the class isn't enough to get the discount.

The only reason I would (now, am) take the class is to become a "working" divemaster. I want to help people enjoy scuba as much as I do, and the free trips to the lake don't hurt either ;)

Last night we started our first pool session. Quite boring actually, but I guess if you are going to help teach, the owner of the shop wants to make sure you can do basic skills. The worst part was ditching all of our gear on the bottom and going back down and putting it on. I have an all clear mask, and it doesn't show up at the bottom of a pool worth a hoot.

Excellent!! THAT is the reason to become a Divemaster (or Instructor). Welcome to the pro ranks. Now be prepared to be shocked and amazed at the zany things people will do on SCUBA.
