Met up with recman21 at Wazee yesterday. It was cold (43 degrees at 60 feet) but great! Nice meeting you Steve.

43 isn't cold! As long as you know about it in advance and are dressed for it.

Would love to dive Wazee some time soon. How far from Rockford is it? (I go to Rockford on business trips pretty regularly and then have the weekend.)

Not bad. Will contact you in advance of my next trip that direction--will be a few months. How about a few notes re the diving there: typical viz, types of fish, picturesque walls, wrecks?

recman21 found this link that has some information and pictures of whats available. I haven't had a chance to do too much exploring yet, but plan too get there a few times this year. The lake is 355' deep and I'm told the visibility opens up at below 80'...the second thermocline is somewhere in that area also and the temp drops into the mid 30's. I'll have to wait for a drysuit to try that out.
