Just went up and paid for my dry suit. Also, trying to get a price quote on my VR3. I wont be able to buy that for sometime, but still curious to know how much that is going to set me back.

Me too. So what did you wind up with Bob?

CLx450 with Zip Seals, and I orderd an extra set of zip seals as well. No sense in having them if I dont have anything to replace them with. One pocket on the right leg, and the CF200 knee pads.

Nice choice. Look forward to diving with you in that fine-lookin' suit!

Glad you get to benefit from my experience. . . and jealous that yours will be better than mine! LOL

Well since Bob shared, I will too. I went with a stock DUI-TLS/SE with the 300g undies. Only added a bellows pocket, outside right leg. Not near as spiffy, but well I'm guessing I paid about half what Bob did so I'm happy :D... And with the money I saved I should be able to keep the board running for about 2 years ;)

The board COSTS money?? What about the big bucks you make off the ads? LOL.
Great suit also--you'll love it. Even have a couple cave-diving buddies who use that suit.

Heh, at this point I have no "paid" advertisement. What I'm using is more like affiliate programs. I am not allowed to discuss what I get from Google Adsense, but let's just say that in the 6 months the board has been up I've paid for about 1 month of ISP fees, not to mention software costs :D.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or begging, please don't assume that. My comment was tongue in cheek. The costs of the board are really not very high right now and I gladly pay for the entertainment provided.

Ok, so to stop hijacking the Mermet thread.
Picked up my drysuit today. Due to an ordering snafu, no underwear. That should be here next week before I head out to the lake.
Did a quick fit test and it seems to fit well without undies. A little long in the leg but it's stock so you take what you can get.
When my wife get's home and can zip me up I'll give it a full test and "simulate" undies by using a 3mm fullsuit. (Can you say hot?)
Got the wrists trimmed, a little on the tight side but I'll wait until I dive it to reduce that. Waiting for an extra pair of hands to do the neck.
Unfortunatly, size 11 rockboots do not fit into an XL Jet very well at all so I'll have to get me some turtles.

I got my undies, and they need slight alterations still. I am afraid they may be a little too warm, but we will see.
No dry suit yet. Still waiting....

Saw Bob at the shop last night and asked him what he was up to....
"My undies need altering"
I told him that was way TMI...

Best to cut the seals with a razor blade or VERY sharp knife. Don't need extra hands for the neck--use a 2 liter bottle or something similar. Any nick or irregularity is where it will eventually rip.
Good job leaving the wrists tight. You can always trim another ring off if it hurts, but once it leaks you can't make it tighter! Same for the neck. And yes, I had to earn this knowledge the hard way--hope I can save y'all a set of seals.
I have size 10 rock boots and the Aqua Lung Super Rockets II fit perfectly! BTW, I'd be willing to sell my original Super Rockets cheap--and they already have Manta spring straps. :)

I was taught to use a bottle on the wrists and a tank cylinder for the neck.

I know people who have used both - two liter bottle, cylinder - for the neck seal. I've head that cans, as in soup cans or vegatable cans, work very well for the wrist seal.
