First and foremost, let me apologize for not making it to he deep dive this morning. I was up all night coughing and choking, and didnt get a good nights rest, Add that in with the fact I was congested all weekend long anyway, and I thought it would be better to to endanger myself or any of you by trying to force that dive. That killed me not to go, but I think it was the right call.
It was nice to meetthe handful of you that I did meet. I wish there would have been a little more time to sit around and talk, but when you are in one of their suits, you are pretty much on the clock from the moment you walk out of the tent.
I the dives were very nice. The first dive I did, once you got away from the beach enterance, the vis had to be 20 -30 feet, maybe even better than that. 50 foot was the max depth I hit Saturday, and the vis was probably the best I have ever seen in the midwest.
Even though I wasnt physically able to do everything I wanted to this weekend, I still think it was a good time. Hopefully the next time we all get together, we wont be as pressed for time.
Bob
PS - Now, I'm off to drown my self pity in medication.

We had a nice time. Got to meet Bob and Chris that was fun. Got to see a couple old friends and catch up with them. Terry & I didn't get a chance to dive. By the time we got the flat tire fixed and back on (it was all Terry's fault - 2nd time I have had a flat on my car) and got to the lake, most of the suits were out. I did get a chance to look at the suits and undergarments and know what I want.
We will have to plan a Midwestdive.com weekend once the allergy season is over and the water is a little warmer.

A Midwestdive weekend sounds great. July and August at Table Rock are always plenty warm. Hope someone sets something up and I'm available that weekend!

If everyone wants to let me know what weekend end in August they are available and places they like to stay I will see what I can put together for us. Some place out of Kimberling City?

August 13-14 is the only weekend that I don't think I could make. Kimberling City is fine by me--I love all the Table Rock sites. In Kimberling I prefer the Kimberling Arms Resort, since they have a courtesy dock and shore-diving access, but am certainly open to trying new places.

I got a last minute offer I couldn't refuse Friday night and ended up at the north dam site park diving the bluffs Sat. Vis was as good as I've ever seen. Even at 80 ft. I didn't have to turn my light on. You all had a beautiful day to try out the suits and it looked like there were plenty of people across the way from us. I had so much more fun than doing the painting and mowing I had planned. Sorry some of you had trouble but hope you enjoyed your trip anyway.

That really stinks that you didn't get to dive. What suit did you decide that you are getting?

It doesn't have to be August - I will be gone the last week in July. If someone has an other date let us know. I was thinking warm and thought of August in the Midwest. :D

Hi everybody.... I thought I'd pop in over here and introduce myself now that I've been lurking on this board for awhile and now that I've met a few of the regulars in person.
DOG Days was a great experience again this year although it wasn't nearly as crowded as it was last year. Sorry you didn't get to do the Sunday morning dive Bob. Terry and I had a nice dive although the visibility wasn't great.. It got really murky down around 70 ft. I think I need to get a nice HID light. :)
It was good to meet some people from this board and scubaboard in real life. When is the Midwest Dive group dive? and where? Oronogo anyone?

Oronogo would work for me. We will have to look at the calendar and see what we can come up with. All the westside divers chime in and let us know what dates work for you. Any eastsiders are welcome too :D.

I know it's short notice but I thought I'd invite anyone who wants to our next club dive. Yes, it's well after Easter but it was early enough this year we decided to let the water warm up a little before the golf ball chase. Entry fee is $15 for club members and $20 for nonmembers including lunch. Prizes will be $100, $50 and $25 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Cost for the nitrox course is $41 just fyi, it's really late to make plans for that I know. If there is any interest I'll try to post this type of thing earlier in the future and it's always on our website.
Copy of club e-mail even though the links didn't light up:
>Hello Everyone,
>
>It is time for our Easter Egg Hunt. It will be Apirl 30 at Indian Creek on Beaver Lake. Please arrive around 10:00 am. The Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 11:00 am. Lunch will be provided with drinks. We are having fried chicken with potato salad and baked beans. Please RSVP to me at diversharon@cableone.net if you are coming and how many will be with you so I can plan how much I need for lunch. During lunch we will plan other events. The speciality class will follow lunch.
>
>The speciality class offered should be:
>Enriched Air Diver Class at Jim Perkins Home 23-Apr-05 Lake Day 30-Apr-05 after Easter Egg Hunt.
>
>Please contact Chuck or Jim if you are interested for this class.
>
>
>If you have any questions, please email Jim Perkins at ozarkjim@hotmail.com. Please check out our website at http://www.ddu.tiadon.com (http://www.ddu.tiadon.com/). It should answer any of your questions. Also, if you have an idea of a new game we can use or if you would like to see something offered as a speciality class, please let us know.

Kent (and anyone else),
Our next event will be in June since we are doing some training in May. It will be a scavanger hunt at the north dam site park on Beaver. We will determine the date at the EEHunt and I will post it after that. Our next specialty class will be Deep Diver at Table Rock Dam on 11 and 12 June. Cost for the class is $35 to club members only.

I'll be at Table Rock Lake July 16-23. I'll be doing my AOW dives, but there's plenty of time for more dives. Any takers? Feel free to message or email me.

Wayne
