For all the dry suit divers, what kinf of underwear do you use? I am looking at the DUi website, and I see mostly 150 and 300 gram. Seems like most people here have dove Meremt Springs. Is 150 enough tokeep you warm, or is the 300 gram recommended? I did see one that was 400, but that seems like that might be a little much.

I know it's sacrilege, but I don't use the "diving" undergarments. I layer on poly and cotton long underwear and a pair of sweats over that. I can adjust how much I put on depending on the water temp. It's the same stuff I've used for years bowhunting and works just fine for me. I don't mind spending money on stuff I need or want but haven't seen any reason for this. Maybe if I was going somewhere it was really cold and my normal stuff didn't keep me warm. For 42 degrees plus...no problems. Shell suit by the way.

Bellow 55 I always wear 400g thinsulate. Above 60 I usally wear 200g thinsulate.
In between I am not sure what is best it depends on the dive. I have a TLS350 so I get no additional insulation from the suit.

I dive a shell suit with a fleece jumpsuit rated to 50 degrees and thinsulate longjohns under that. I've been OK down to 40 degrees, never dove colder than that.

Amount of insulation needed is a very personal thing. On a single dive, one of my buddies will be wearing a 3 mm wetsuit while another will be in a 400 g UG & DS, and number 2 is shivering!
I own the 200 g Thinsulate, and dive it alone in water temps from 50-70 F. For colder temps I wear a pair of Polartech long johns underneath it and have been comfy all the way down to 37 F.

Take a look at this website http://www.cdsportswear.com/. This stuff is great. For my ice dives I used a layer of bodysox & Bare T100 underwear.
I've been in 54 degree water with the T100, Nexgen suit & was fine.
The cdsportswear suit should work great for summer diving below the thermocline, won't sweat to death before getting wet. (whoops, not supposed to get wet in the dry suit)
