View Full Version : Zipper question

CLX 450. Got a wet shoulder. Driveway leak test, right side out, clamped seals, soapy check – right where the zipper “parks” closed, small bubbles, when I rock the zipper, esp to the outside, leak gets a bit stronger. So, my question – Is the zipper shot, shot, or would sealing on the inside have any chance? I notice a little ‘parking’ wedge on the inside of the end of the zipper run. Never noticed before, so I don’t know if it is ‘normal’ or part of the issue.
Anybody have anything along these lines in the past? Would like to avoid professional help at this time of year if possible.

Yup sounds like you will need to send it to Steve before to long. Mine did the same thing as you are describing and I was able to use wetsuit cement or just contact cement and keep fixing it. It is a pain to do but takes some time but after doing it for 2 years every 2-3 dives, I just sent it in.

I sent my suit back to DUI once to get a pocket added, and they decided I needed a new zipper and billed me for it. I didnt know Steve did zippers, too. That is good to know.

Dang thing only lasted five years :-)
Yeah, got a note from Steve already. Now I have to find a window of time to send it in.
