newest Trimix Diver.

I finished up my Normoxic Trimix class work this weekend at TRL with SLIM.

The hardest part of the the dive was suiting up in heat index of 100+ and surviving the perch schools at the last deco stop. The water is 91 deg. We took our hoods off and I saw SLIM put his back on and wondered why right up till a big ol' perch took a nip of my right ear!

Congratulations! You're a brave man... I don't mind diving in freezing temps but that kind of heat would finish me right off... Hell, I would pass out before I clipped my second tank in. Isn't 91 pretty darn close to boiling point? :P

Now you can come back out to the lake and explore some of the deeper wrecks. The quality of the wrecks in our area improves below 120', IMHO.

All those perch would have allowed you to get your deco fishing cert as well. Once you calculate your SPC (surface perch consumption) rate, you have to demonstrate proficiency with hand net and spear techniques, as well as be able to fry up fish within a standard surface interval.... :D

Very cool.

Cindy knows how dangerous those perch can be. At Mermet a couple of years ago one took a chunk out of her lower lip. So much so that there was a good cloud of blood around her face.
