I bought a Shearwater Predator! I was on the verge of buying a 3-gas O unit (e.g. Trio) for typical cave EANx gasses I use. Also, I began my trimix study and hopefully will have it completed in time for my trip with b1g and company to Presque Isle in August. After reading all the reports and factoring my 'big display' preference, I decided to splurge.
I got the PROT SA. Stand alone, OC, trimix. It sure is prudy on the arm ;-) I set up the bluetooth dongle (included). I uploaded latest firmware. I set date/time group and gasses. I am reaquainting myself with gradient factor settings which is a user input with a default of (80/30). It is upgradable to CCR with no connection. I am sure if you were thinking of growing into CCR, you'd want to get a model with the Fischer connector. There is a logging program, too, which I downloaded, but without having any dives to download, I have no comments on it yet.
Now I just need to add water!
BTW, I purchased it from Cave Adventurers. All I can say is, call him, drop SLIM's name and let him give you a price. He says he always tries to do SLIM's guys good. He made me very happy.
