I keep hearing everyone talk about the Zip Seals being the way to go. But the more I read about the SI Tech Ring System, the more I like it. Does anyone have an opinion when it comes to knowledge or experience with both of these?

Is the tech ring something that DUI has or is SI another brand? It is something that I will need to investigate also...if the day ever comes that I can go dry!

My opinions:
Zip seals are wonderful. Only way to have a seal tear and not miss a dive. Replace a wrist or neck seal in the field in 5 minutes. It has happened to me a couple times.
Personally, I don't like the Zip gloves because if you tear it during the dive you will get very wet very fast. So I use separate dry gloves with their own wrist seals. Everyone I know who has the Zip gloves loves them, though, and the kind of failure of which I am speaking is very rare.
The SI Tech rings give you the best of both worlds, since you can pull the ring out of the cuff in the event of a torn glove and still have suit integrity. Don't think you can use the SI Techs rings AND the Zip seals, though. So you're back to missing dives if a wrist seal is torn (or patching it with duct tape? it has been done for a dive or 2).
If you truly think these things out for yourself, you'll find there are no simple answers. You choose the positives YOU prefer and avoid the potential problems that bug YOU the most. Best of luck with your shopping.

Has anybody tried these? Looks like a simpler alternative to traditional dry gloves.

I have not tried them, but with all the hassles OMS caused me just trying to get my manifold in, I would be happy if I never bought anything else from OMS again.

Yes, have used them. They're very good, almost as warm as real dry gloves.
