Didn't even know there was a calendar on the site! Will have to look around a bit more.
Next weekend, April 2-3, some of us are planning some fun diving at Oronogo (Blue Water Lake) http://www.oronogo.com , just outside of Joplin, MO. Water temp will be app. 50 F and visibility is expected to be anywhere between 10 and 40 feet, depending on how much rain we get late in the week and how bright the sun is those days. Anyone is welcome to join us. Dry suits are optional. LOL!

I know 46 degrees is 46`degreeas, but I have been to Rolla twice in the past month, and that is the coldest I haze ever been in my life. Good place to do the dry suit thing, unless it floods, of course.

All I'm certain of is me and Jason Clifton. Jason is Cavern certified and 1 dive away from being Intro Cave. We will definitely be practicing some skills and doing some dives in the 4 doors overhead area--but no deco.
Jesus Valencia may also be joining us. Jesus is Cavern certified and signed up for Intro--so I'm sure he'd like to practice some reel handling etc. as well.
Hope we see you there!

Bill...I wont be able to make it this weekend. My accessories for my doubles came in, and I am going to put them together on Saturday. Then I might go try and dive them Sunday at Mermet. I have a few hours in doubles in the pool. I dont plan on going deep with them. Probably just stay in the shallows end until I feel better with them. I'll keep you posted. Have fun, and be safe.

Are all of these except the Houseboat and Great Lake trips a just show up and dive sort of thing, or do we sign up? Also, on project AWARE, that sounds like an excellent activity. Where and when can we sign up?

You got it! Just show up and join in. If you like, e-mail me ahead of time and I'll let you know where we are staying, anticipated arrival and departure times, and how to recognize us. The Houseboat and Great Lake trips must be RSVP and pre-paid through The Dive Shop.
Project AWARE is a big event--we don't run it, we just participate in it. SCUBA Sports in Branson has been organizing it, and you can sign up directly from their website http://www.scuba-sports.com/ .
Hope we see you around this summer!

This weekend in Rolla was OK, just OK. 60 F surface temp, 50 F at bottom, to properly describe viz requires language I don't use in print ;) (Hint: There was a schoolbus full of HS students getting certified. Thrilled they were doing it, but wish I wasn't in their wake.)

Don't blame the students. I was there 2 weeks ago with no students in the water and the vis was no good. Oddly enough, the only place where the vis was great was in the well. Normally I can't see jack in the well.

Had a beautiful weekend at Mermet. About 20+ fun-divers representing the 2 local shops that hosted the event. Excellent visibility with up to 40 feet in the 50+ foot deep water. And could see the 20-foot platforms from the surface. Free lunches, too.

Table Rock Lake conditions July 22-24: Great visibility and warm water in the shallows! The best I’ve seen at Table Rock for 2 years. From 0-20 ft. depth we had 82-86 F water temp and 15-20 ft. visibility. WooHoo!! From 20-30 ft. depth there was a very low visibility thermocline. Then from 30 ft. depth on down to 120 ft. we had 54 F and 20-30 ft. visibility.
