Drove by Roubidoux this evening on the way home from Beaver Lake to check out the spring.
We could hear the roar of the discharge from up in the parking lot--sounded like a big jacuzzi!
The flow and the water level are both way up. Water level is just above the supports for the walkway, about 2-1/2 feet below the walkway. The water is clear, but is churning and full of bubbles coming out of the spring, and looks like a giant and very forcefull jacuzzi.
It's going to be a while. Sorry.

Yeah, there has been some major rain thru there the last two weeks. Stuff like 5 to 9 inches spread around the area. And, there is more rain forecast thru this weekend right now :-(

I guess that gives us a little more time to save up "gas" money for the Big Room push, huh?

Aw come on the cost of the gas for a dive to the big room is not that much, just a stage and doubles should do it. Even with out a scooter.

Yep. Not quite done paying for my freedom yet, so 3 cylinders of 20/30 takes a hefty bite out of paltry disposable income.

I have a cavern class Nov. 7th and 8th. If the rain keeps up down there we won't be able to get in. My alternate loction is Mine Lamont but I'm not sure the phone numbers I have are still any good. The number for the caretaker I have is 1-573-783-5259; is this number still good? If there is an updated number please help. I am not ruling out RBD until the end of the week so if any news comes out this week let me know. Thanks.

I don't have eyes on, so can't be sure, but we have had mucho rain thru the area. (Almost everything we get here comes right from that area.) Lots of rain last week and more rain forecast all this week. Not sure it looks good. Hopefully someone will go by and deliver a good report.
PM steve2281. I think he has the phone numbers for down there at LaMotte (The Offsets).
If it keeps raining, you might be able to use my backyard.

I hope no one has plans for RBD this weekend. If they do, I bet they will be in for a real treat. Better bring your surf board and gets some pics of you on surfing the boil that will be there from all the rain this week and today.

I'll be shocked if anyone sees the inside of RBD in 2009.

Yeah, we have gotten 2" since 9 this morning. I am pretty sure the same or more has rolled thru Waynesville.
I am kind of intrigued by the surf concept. Dry suit surfing...I am hearing... Speciality Card!

I think PADI has a Dry Suit Surfing card for Cave Divers but not for sure.

Since RBD is out for next weekend we will be at the Offsets, Mine LaMont. I finally got ahold of someone there to let them know that we are coming. 9AM next Saturday morning.
