Peg and I had a couple classes at Mermet this weekend. Had a great time and fabulous weather.
Visibility and temp are both pretty good right now in the shallow water. Vis is 8 – 20 ft. and water temp is 75 F all the way down to 22 ft. depth. It gets just a little colder on down to 30 ft. depth.
Right now, between 30 and 50 ft. depth the visibility is awful; less than 5 ft. and a lot of particulate in the water.
Then as usual the vis gets better the deeper you go. From 65 ft. you can clearly see the 85 ft. platform and water temp here is 52 F. At 85 ft. the temp is 44 F and vis is even better. And y’all know how good it is at the bottom! J
Next weekend is DiveRite Tech Tour at Mermet. Pete Nawrocky from DiveRite will be there with much tech gear for you to see, touch, and test dive, and our friend DeepDiverBob will be there helping out.
DUI DOG Days is in 2 weeks – Sept. 26-27. This is your chance to dive Mermet at a special lower rate that also includes lunch, and also to test dive a DUI Dry Suit.
