Hi gang,
Dropped in at The Dive Stop this eve to help finish up an OW student, and we were very pleasantly surprised to find 15-20 ft. visibility! Water temp was 75 F down to 18 ft., 70 F to 25 ft., and 65 F at the bottom.
They were just finishing installing the new office out front. A full sized double-wide trailer that had been a temporary city hall for a local community during their construction.

I was just there last Sunday, 8-30-09, and had vis 15' to 20' down to about 32', but then it got dark. It was like dark iced tea. I went to 37' and couldnt see a thing. It didnt seem like it was going to clear so I came back up and finished the dive above 30'. On the surface I talked to some other people and they said that they couldnt find a bottom to the dark water either. Im hoping the bottom half of the quarry continues to clear like the top half has and get a few good dives in there this weekend.

You don't really want to see what's on the bottom, dude. And don't put your hand down into it. LOL!

Earlier this year is was so dark I almost ran into the rock wall. On another dive I was not sure where the bottom was or if the bottom compostion was just that dark. Yeah, it was the bottom..... J-E-L-L-O

With all the rain, I dont know if its worth my time to try and dive. Maybe I'll call tommorrow morning and see what the conditions are like. I guess I better call and check if they are even open tommorrow since its Monday (Labor Day) and they are usually closed.

Yeah, gotta keep that gear dry between dives! LOL.
Anyway, our class opted for Mermet for next weekend. Thanks for reporting back.
