View Full Version : Rolla Fun Dive - Aug 30

Quail Run Diver's Quarry in Rolla, MO, is in operation again under new owners.

Some of us will be diving there for fun this Sunday, 8/30, and anyone is welcome to join.

The water is warm (70 F), shallow (up to 40 ft.), and has easy beach entry. Plenty of fish and a little bit of visibility. ;-)

We all had an enjoyable day diving Quail Run Diver's Quarry in Rolla, MO.

Water temp of 75 F to 24 ft., then 68 F below the thermocline and 62 F in the deep dark hole back in the corner (at 38 ft.). Vis was between 5-15 ft. at all depths, and it was just us 5 fun divers and a Rescue class of 6.

Mine LaMotte was nearly as nice with temps a crisp 53 F at 27 ft with Vis between 5-15 ft.

I've never been to Mine LaMotte. From what I hear it's quite the party spot. I imagine there is a lot of treasure to be had following a nice summer weekend! What is there to see?

Not to completely hijack this thread, my apologies Bill, but yes it is quite the party spot. Lots of drinking, smoking, girls younger than my oldest pair of shoes showing there breasts and a small percentage of hard cases. Some treasure other than the 100,000 beer cans can be found. I've personally found a couple of nice gold chains, a class ring, a couple of small diamond earnings and small amounts of cash.

No problem, there was no further Rolla discussion going on.

Jason was a big sweetie and returned the class ring to the school to get it to the girl who lost it. But he wears the gold chains he found like pirate booty!

Maybe some day I'll venture down there.
