I just wanted to say thanks to Brett Byers for putting together today's charter out of Sheboygan.
We dove the William B. Allen, which lies in 165 feet of water. The Allen went down in 1880 with no loss of life. It sits upright on the bottom and is in very good condition (IMHO). Visibility was great once you got below about 80 feet, my estimate was 60 to 70 feet.
There were four divers today: Brett, Tony, Matt, and myself. Matt had to abort his dive just after the descent and did so without incident. The plan was 160 for 30 minutes, and other than getting a little cold at the 20 foot stop the dive was a real pleasure.
Tony took some pictures that looked pretty good, hopefully he will post a couple.
Thanks are also due to Greg Such for running his customary great charter. His latest upgrade to the boat is a new ladder, which worked out well for us. Its definitely easier to get back on board.
I can't wait to get back on the Allen.
Jeff
