Had an excellent weekend of wreck dives in the East Chicago area aboard N'Pursuit courtesy of an invite from our own MgicTwnger.
Visibility was up to 35 ft. (fer sure, fer sure--I measured it with the tape laid out for the surveying of the wreck of Car Ferry #2). Water temps were mostly 58-62 F, as we were diving single-tank shallow wrecks in 55 ft. or less depths. Got a low reading of 54 F right at the bottom at 55 ft.
Also dived the wrecks of Illinois Holly, Wings of the Wind, Tacoma, Material Services, and Louisville.
For easy single-tank recreational dives, the N'Pursuit charter is a great operation. Only holds 6 divers, but is fast and comfortable, with an air conditioned cabin to change in, and very friendly and accommodating Captain and Dive Master.

Sounds like a good time. We are heading up to Two Rivers area next week. Hope to get a few dives in with divebum (Greg).

Sounds cool... I really want to make it up to Chicago or Milwaukee this summer, but it is looking more and more like that may not happen. So much crap planned already for the couple of weekends that I actually have off. I will just keep living my adventures through the rest of you guys....

lets compare schedules sometime, and see if we can get something to work. I would really like to get back to Milwaukee as well.

I've been wanting to get up to Milwaukee too. Greg is going to be in the area until mid August, I think.

Bring them with you and just baptize them in Lake Michigan during the surface interval. :D

Forgot to list the dive booty.
Found a weight pouch inside one of the wrecks with 8# lead in it. Also found a fising lure holder and, on the surface, a bouquet of balloons that had once been filled with helium (what a waste!).
And, alas, lost a backup light that came off a double-ender, and nearly lost my SK7 compass when it popped out of my console getting up out of the low gear-up benches on the dive boat.

Finding booty isn't so much luck as it is always being on the lookout for it. Watching for edges that may be too straight or too round to be natural items.
A Goth wedding, perhaps? ;)

That might actually work better for me anyway. I am cave diving in Florida the last week of August, and first part of Sept.
