I have some restrictions on people who have never posted. It's to help prevent spamming and to encourage posting. Now that you have one post you should be able to do a lot more, if not let me know.

Cool. God of the water bulletin board. You deserve it for all the effort you're putting into it!
Gotcha.

No no no. I didn't say Bob does NOT dive deep. Only that he and I have not done so together yet. We have only made a few dives together and the conditions or circumstances of the moment made shallower dives more prudent.
We both stay busy diving, but with a different sub-group of people, so our opportunities to dive at the same location on the same weekend have been limited.

Hey Bill, glad to came over.
For those that dont know "The Skull", he is one of the most experience divers I know. Its just a shame he has to be from that "other dive shop." (Just kidding, of course.)
I think we have hit triple digits before down at Mermet. Once I get comfortable in my new doubles, and get through my Tech Deep diver class, we will have to go check out Blue Lake in Joplin.

No, dude, you're the one from the "other" dive shop. I'm from The Dive Shop. LOL. But I'm equal opportunity. I dive with everyone and have bought something from nearly every dive shop in the St. Louis area.
Just checked last year's log book, and I believe we only got down into the 90+ ft. range.
Yes, there are some awesome dives to be made in Joplin, even staying above 100 feet! Depth isn't everything!

That right...we was going to do the deep dive, but you didnt want to dive with the Gadget Diver. I was a little nervous about that when you said you wasnt going, because you didnt trust him.

Me too. I have either bought somthing major, taken a class, or gone on a trip with every shop except SSUSA. I've never made it down to that one. That includes the recently out of business shop.

Hehehe. I wasn't going to bring that up in case he was a member here. There are just a very few folks with whom I've refused to dive over the years, so that makes him part of an elite group. I believed, and still do, that he is a danger to himself, and I prefer not to be in the water with someone when they cause an incident.

I am all for someone calling a dive because of equipment problems, but in a quarry at 105 foot, calling a dive 5 minutes in because he didnt think his compass was working right, well, I didnt dive with him much after that. Swim in any direction to a wall, especailly at that end, one isnt very far away.

Bill, good to see you over on this board. I don't guess I have actually dived with anyone on this board, but I have met DDB and dived with several over on the other board. Looking foward to meeting everyone; I'll probably see you at Mermet 4/30. I'll be there Fri if anyone is inclined to go. Welcome. steve

Welcome aboard Skull. If you all come down to dive the Circle (Oronogo) you might call first. When we were out for New Year's Day, Carl said he was planning on charging more for people with doubles.

Yes, I heard about the new policy. Very fair, if you ask me. We have discussed his reasons for the change and it makes sense. An extra $10 sure won't stop me from diving somewhere I like to go.
See ya around,

Didn't mean to imply anything about the policy, just didn't want anyone to be surprised if they drove a long way to get here.

What is the purpose of charging more for doubles? Is that for entry, or for the air fills? I can understand the air fills. Or is there more to that place than I thought?

If Skull discussed it with Carl he can probably better answer the reasons. What I heard him tell one of the guys paying was that the "tech" guys with doubles would pay more for their entry fee. I did not hear the explanation as to why. James, should we move this to another forum?

I started a new thread about this in the Scuba Diving forum.
