Y-Kiki Divers is sponsoring a Fun Dive day on May 9 at The Dive Stop. Anyone may join us, especially if you are in need of a buddy.

I'll try to find a place to tie up the Y-Kiki banner, but failing that, you can find me by my dark green Scion XB box-car dive vehicle. I'll also be the one wearing my Converse All-Stars as rock boots with my DUI suit.

I was going to get a pair, but I dont think I am in the cool club yet...one of these days, I will get me a pair. I did, however, ditch the rock boots, and just use a pair of scubapro hard sole booties.

Bubba, you still be cool if you get the pink. DDB if you get any color, you will be in the cool section, just hink how they will help with ankle support over the SCP hard sole booties. Ed, same thing, the ankle support will be much better and I think you deserve them and to be in the local crowd that you hang out with. Hmm just think of th eark up you could do at the shop you could do with them. I have found that I hav eto order 2 sizes larger then what I wear, keep that in mind gang.

Convers All Star ROCKS. Best thing they were designed for, LOL

I thought I was the only one who used converse shoes for my Rock boots! I ended up with black ones because the BRIGHT red ones were too big.

Nope many of us use them, I jsut know that if I get 2 sizes bigger, they fit just right. I get mine from Eastbay.com

I thin Jim should go PINK. Lets all vote on this and see how many come up.

I wish I could go diving this weekend but someone got my wife pregnant, and I'm going to have words with them when I find out who it was, so my folks are coming in town to visit. I'll be up for some diving later on in may though.

edit: Hmm, I just pulled up the quarry on a map and found out it's about 30 miles away from where I live. I'm definitely going to make some trips out there. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but what's the quarry like? I thought I remember Bob telling me that they didn't have air fills out there last year, I'm guessing they have a compressor now? If not, I think I can scrounge up 6 or 7 tanks between my brother in law and myself, so we'd be set anyway I guess.

It is a small quarry that has a few items in it. It is not like Mermet. There is no running water, no heated changing rooms. He does have a little changing room set up now though, so that has made the ladies much more comfortable. It is a newer place for divers so it is just getting started. Vis has been pretty good this year. 95% of the quarry is about 35 ft deep, and there is one small dark hole that will get you to around 50ft. He does have a compressor out there now.

With being in St Charles this is a great place to be able to run out to if you only have time for a dive or two and want to be home early.

I wish I could go this weekend, but my weekend is booked up... I hope you guys have fun out there...

You're right in a way. Apparently this happened either in bonaire or shortly after we got back in town. So that narrows down the possible culprits quite a bit.....

OK, talks of pregnancies aside -- remember, this started out being about the Dive Stop Fun Dive Day --

We had a very nice time. Weather was incredibly better than yesterday, warm and sunny.

And the rumors (about The Dive Stop) are true: It is much improved from last year, with a nice 1-person changing room, a porta potty, sturdy picnic tables covered by tent pavilions with heavy level gravel, and a nice walkway to the water's edge. And the vis is as good as recent rumors as well--up to 20 ft. if you stay off the bottom.

Next stops: Pennyroyal next weekend, then Mermet for Memorial Day weekend.
