Worked an OW class this weekend at the DiveStop. Was getting a surface temp of about 65, 50 degrees at 20 foot, and 42 at 50 foot. Vis was about 20 feet. The new platform at 10 foot seemed to work okay. Its kind of flimsy, and when there is a group on it, if someone moves, it kind of knocks everyone off balance, but didnt seem to be a big deal once people got use to it. Since it is so far off the bottom, we was able maintain decent vis through out the whole weekend.

Also, when we was packing up on Sunday, we was able to watch a couple of black snakes eat a couple of mice. I know, not the greatest thing for some people, but we enjoyed it.

The platform is at 10 foot, you say? Is there also one at a more appropriate depth of 15-20? 10 ft. is kind of a confined-water depth.

Sounds like you had excellent vis and water temps. I'll be happy to try the quarry out again myself in a couple weeks.

All the instructors seemed happy with it, and it was okay for all skills except CESA, so who am I to argue.
