We got blown out twice this weekend trying to dive with Greg on the Wisconsin/Roscinco. For me, this makes six charters in a row that have been cancelled on me. Greg told me not to sign up for anymore of his charters until my luck improves.

It's a shame, I was really looking forward to getting some real dives in. I wound up just meeting up with Duane today, and blowing through the trimix in my doubles at 25' at Haigh quarry. I must have had the clearest head than anyone else on that training platform! I thought nine tanks would be enough for one weekend of diving, but I guess I should have brought one or two more...

Sorry to hear that. Is that all you own 9 tanks? That is considered just a start. I stoped counting at 20, have tanks here and there and a few other places. Got a few loaned out, I know who has them and that I do not need to worry about them.

See ifyou had just another set of doubles with a weakier mix, you couldhave just used them and saved all that high cost of mix.

Better luck next time, um when you call Greg up, tell him your luck has changed and see if he will let you back on.

Sorry you got banned.

And reaally sorry you wasted mix on a shallow dive! Should have rented an Al80 of air and thrown a stage kit on it.

Until your luck changes, please don't sign up for any of the Great Lakes charters I'm booked on. ;)

Yeah, I brought the twins down for possible weekend visitation, but things didn't work out, so they didn't get to visit with their cousins or siblings. They stayed lashed up to their baby cousin, AL40, in the truck all weekend.

Nine tanks is all I could fit in the back of my wife's Celica. I had set of doubles with 32% that would have been perfect, but they were 300 miles away in my garage ;(

It wasn't too bad. The tanks were re-mixed 21/35 that got watered down to 28/13 +/-. I wasn't about to blow through the other set with 18/45 in it. If I hadn't wasted it at Haigh, I would have wasted it at Dive Stop anyway.

9 tanks is pretty darn good for a car that size. Funny how we are looking for a family car to foot all of our scuba crap in it! You can only use my doubles if you ask nicely!
Maybe I will be the good luck charm for the next trip up there!

Apparently I have the touch of death.

I was signed up for Jitka's charter this Saturday, and it got canceled due to engine problems. 7 in a row and counting!

So should I reserve a spot for you on the Lakeland Saturday?

Mapquest sez 4:19 from my folks house to Sturgeon Bay. If only I had a private plane...

The curse has been broken!!! After being blow off our first dives at Mackinaw City for most of the day the small craft advisory was lifted and we made a trip out to the Cederville at 5PM and did a 25 minute dive. The vis was about 40ft. and the water temp was 48. We had a great dive then headed back in for dinner.

Yep, first dive since July 26 2008. All it took was sacrificing one dive computer to the dive gods, and they are appeased. It looked pretty bleak for a while in the morning. We actually got in a viewing of Star Trek before the lake settled down enough to get out.

Glad you got out! Be sure to eat some whitefish and throw back a few beers for me.
