This actually works!!
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.
With a 5-LB potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax. Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.
After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-LB potato sacks.
Then try 50-LB potato sacks.
Eventually, try to get to where you can lift a 100-LB potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight out for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level now.)
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each sack.

Buba,
I commend you for a very clever use of normal household items in your fitness regimen. I myself follow this routine, but have not yet reached your level of fitness. I'm currently limited to 2 Brussel Sprouts in ziplock bags (but they are the big freezer bags).

Do potato chips count?

My poison is Oatmeal Stout's and Dark Lagers. But for the real topic, I do not watch what I eat or drink. My work is very hard and keeps me on my feet all day. Being a heavy duty diesel mechanic I have no time to sit at a computer until I get home.

Unlike me, who is a heavy duty computer user  I have feet ???
I am wondering, "Are the Oatmeal Stouts better for your cholesterol?"

Hi I am new to the scuba board and just read this post. Love this comment, made me laugh out load. I am female with a very thin build. Not sure the 100lb of potatoes is a realistic goal for me. I think I will just add one Idaho potato at a time.
