I would really like to have a Dive Rite MR11 10w HID light head. Maybe someone has one that the battery/switch/cable/cansister is no good anymore.
Thanks!

Are you trying to just save money or do you already have one and just ned parts to rebuild?

I use to have one but I had it turned into a 700 LED :-)

Slim,
I have a DR 700 LED and just thought it would be great to have an HID head as well. I like my LED but it does not seem to cut through the Missouri Muck as well as an HID. With both heads I thought I might be able to switch back and forth depending on conditions.
Thanks

K I understand.
I konw that my LED just pierces the darkness of the muddy water we have in my local lake and the caves.
It might be the design and the configuration of the LED's. I have not used a HID since I have gotten this custom made 3x5watt LED.
Bubba has seen it and he likes it. I have to say that compaired to a GF LED, I loved mine and have not had a chance to compari it to his DR LED. Maybe next time I can.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...we know yours is bigger :-)
Without a doubt, SLIM's 3x5W (or Mike Young's, maybe I should say, we should give it a model# MY3x5) is a bigger puncher than either my 3x3w DR LED700 or my 3x3w GF TriStar. He can normally tell when I am signaling him or shining my light in his eyes, though.
My feeling is that the LED units perform nearly like the 10W HID. The DR upgrade 700 has a wider beam than the GF. And, I wouldn't argue that the HID may get a few feet farther, but not enough to matter to me. I don't regret going to the LED side. (Here is one place where it just wouldn't make sense to say "going to the dark side".) I wouldn't go out of my way to have an HID head. And, to go back and forth, you'll need the lid, switch, latches unless you are going to put wet connects or such in the cable. That is probably over half the cost. And, if you find one, it likely won't be working or no one would get rid of it and by the time you replace bulb/ballast...seems like a lot of money for what I am suspecting to be marginal improvement. I'd invest in a bigger wattage HID or LED if you need more punch. But, that's me...YMMV
I think I wrote more detailed compares back when my recollection of how the HID performed was fresher in my mind.
