Monthly StL Meetup at Dive Stop

I'm putting together a monthly get together at the Dive stop the first friday of every month between March and November. Anyone is welcome.

First meeting is March 6. Meet after work. 5PM or thereabouts.

I have no problem giving them my money... But I bought the season pass last year and will do the same this year... He is putting money into the place, it will take time though.... Not the greatest place in the world but I do enjoy going out there. But I am more concern with getting in the water and working on skills, so I do not really care what there is to see... Would I prefer to go to TRL or Mermet? Sure, but I only have to drive 40 min to The Dive Stop...

It's worth $25 for me just not having to drive 5 hours there and back. Mermet is nicer, but when it's a choice between a ho-hum dive and no dive at all...

The vis has been exceptional the last few months of last year. Might even be better now. Nearly double what we had at Mermet last weekend.

If you're arranging group dives, and have a start time of 5 pm, allowing only time for 2 dives at most, perhaps you could negotiate a discount for this recurring event. I'd probably go once or twice for $10 entry fee. Even if the vis has improved, there is nothing to see and no deep water.

I really don't mind the 2-1/2 hour drive to Mermet or the 3-1/2 hour drive to Table Rock and typically prefer to get a full weekend of diving when I pack up my gear.

I talked with Dave, and he has offered anyone coming with me a rate of $12 for the day. First meetup will be next Friday, March 13. Meet anytime after 4:30. I only plan on one long-ish dive.

I'll have some skill every month for folks to practice if they want. For the first week, I will be practicing passing bottles from the dock, and clipping them on in deep water. I've got a couple Lake dives coming up, and I'm paranoid about dropping the bottles, so I'd like to practice that.
