About a half-dozen of us from STL will be diving the lake next weekend if anyone is looking for a buddy or would like to join us.

We'll be meeting for breakfast Saturday morning at Table Rock Inn near the dam at 8:30 or 9:00 and making our first dive either at the dam, Moonshine Beach, or at the cove opposite the State Park Marina near the boat launch.

Obviously we'll all be diving dry, but will be staying within recreational limits and willing to stay very shallow if someone wants to join us and likes to dive less than 40 ft. deep.

Will report on conditions when I return from the weekend.

Happy New Year, all.

We're ba-ack.

Had a very fun weekend at Table Rock! A total of 7 of us made the trip and braved the slightly below freezing weather to get in some good dives.

Water temp was 44 F at all depths, and visibility was mostly 5-7 feet at all depths, although as good as 15 ft. in a couple isolated spots. And just as SLIM reported last, the visibility gets worse at a depth of about 80 ft. and continues to deteriorate the deeper you go. :(

We dived the dam on Saturday and the boat lauch cove at the end of Dale Ave., just South of the State Park Marina, on Sunday.

Since there isn't yet any stratification (thermoclines), the fish are pretty much scattered everwhere, and we saw most of the ones we did encounter between 40 and 70 ft. deep.

Interesting conditions. I don't think I have seen anything similar in the last five years that I have been diving down there. I guess that it is a by-product of the water going up and down.

Glad all had fun. Hopefully things will start to settle out and some vis will return. Very unusual to be so messed up so deep.

Sorry I did not get ot joing you all on this trip. With what we are to get the next few days, you all madeit at the right time.

I was busy with the nasty 4 letter word WORK. Like bubba said, conditionshave been very strange this year and this winter already. Might get in later this week if the conditions do not become nasty like they say they are to be.

Had planned to go out and play yesterday or today in TBL. Kind of hard to since we got the storm in and the roads suck for this area. Got more ice then snow and just relaxing away another day. Today I will be in margaretaville.

Yup 3-4 inches with Ice, Sleet, and mayabe a inch or less of snow.

You guys got lucky, it all started Monday afternoon and just stopped this morning.

If I was to guess, I would say 7-8 inches of snow at my house. With a few layers of ice in between.

Yep, 8" at my backyard. Not guessing, using a ruler. First day was more sleety build up of a couple inches. Then when it was suppose to stop, it really started snowing like they said it would 24 hours earlier.

I have an irate teenager that saw no since in incrementally shoveling the snow. I am glad I did it 2 inches or so at a time.

BTW, SLIM -
Your thermals have been washed and are serenely hanging next to your 350 (on an appropriate hanger of course) in my basement.
