Just a heads up, they are closed all of January. If you have enough divers coming though, and with advanced noticed, they can usually be very accommodating.

I'll see you there. Phil and I are driving down together. Look for the Red Celica. I'm guessing it will be pretty empty, so we'll probably park close to the main platform.

I had a good time down at Mermet... It was nice to meet Ken. We also ran into Ed Pavey who was very nice to chat with...

Conditions down there were pretty nice. I think my max depth was 90ft becuase once you got below about 80 it got real murky pretty quickly. Water temp was 52 top to bottom, it did feel a little cooler to me down below the murk, but I was not in it long enough for the temp to register on my comp. Vis I would guess to be about 25 or 30ft.

All in all the dives went well. I did really screw up my valve drill after the second dive and it frustrated me pretty badly and then I went to shoot a bag and ran into more problems. I decided to try to store my lift bag on the rear d-ring of my crotch strap, which I had never done before. Well at the time I went to grap it I had no idea where it went. Then I felt it but could not get ahold of it and I thought that it had flipped through my crotch strap when I geared up. Well Tom came around to help me out and told me after the dive that my d-ring is WAY to high and is basically pinned between my but and the bottom of my tanks. It actually took him a good bit of work to get it out of there for me...

Besides those two little things pretty much everything else went well, and we had a good time...

Phil and Tom, nice meeting and diving with you guys. Both Nate and I were reading 48F below 80'. I think the odd temps and poor viz at the bottom could be caused by the water being in the process of it's winter thermal inversion.

Nate was trying out one of the new DiveRite LED lights, comparing it to his HID. LED won hands down.

And be warned: Glen has a new Great Dane puppy, "Gator". Sweet dog, but OMG! He like climbing in cars, chewing and running off with anything, and insists you play with him. He managed to get my whole 2nd stage in his mouth. This summer should be interesting.

Bob, Duane: don't give up hope. You two might still get a life.

He was comparing the MR11 to the new LED 700, I tried to swing my salvo 12w LED over there once I figured out what he was doing but did not get there in time...

Yeah, I forgot to mention Gator. Super sweet dog, very playful, but it took Tom a few one of his gloves back from him after Gator decided it was a play toy. He did not chew it up or anything just wanted Tom to chase him....

Yeah, Gator is fun. I've got a Dane adolescent at home. I wish I had brought her with. They would have worn each other out. I put on my left glove and turned around for a second, and my right glove was gone. I'm all dressed in my TLS and 400g undies, and I'm trying to get my wool glove liner (now sopped in drool) out of the mouth of a 100lb dog. "come here boy" "Good Boy, No, come here. &@#% COME HERE!"
