Has anyone ever been to Oronogo in Joplin, Mo before. Wife and I are thinking about checking it out before it gets too cold.

Many trips to Oronogo. It is one of my favorites. Especially pretty in the 80-100 ft. range where the "Four Doors" feature is.

Info is at www.oronogo.com .

Enjoy.

How late in the season is Oronogo open? I heard November, but don't see it on their website.

Great place to work on your tec diving but then you have to join the Deep Club

John will open on wekends int he winter if he can get 10 or more people I think is what he has done in the past. You never know so I would sugest to call him and get what he has decided to do for this winter. You never know with him. I bet if you were to get enough to go, then he will open for you all if there is enough money in it for him.

How much does John charge per person or per group?

I think it varies. It has been some time since I have been there in the off months but it was like $10.00 a person or a minumum of like maybe $100.00

Dont quote me but somthing like that.

When I have a lake just minutes from me, it is hard to go that far for a dive. Almost 2 hour drive for me when I can be much closer and get home sooner or go play in a cave is a choice for me in the off season.

Last year he was open through November. Then he opens up on New Years Day.
He charges $100 to open the gate in the off season, or through the week since he is only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
