I've been on this trip two years in a row and it is worth it! The dives are great- there are old wooden boats within recreational depths and Greg runs a fine operation. You can also dive the Cederville, a 600' freighter!

Go for the diving, stay for the whitefish!

And this even gives you a few month to get Tony to give out directions on the world class pub crawl =)

I would say go on the Mac Trip. You'll see lots of great wrecks and you can use the dives to get more in water experience that will apply directly to trimix.

The wrecks are all recreational, but that shouldn't stop you from doing a min deco ascent or doing all the gas/dive planning.

Only one morning spot left, but all afternoon spots are still empty. May be able to trade a couple of morning dives for afternoon dives on one or two days. Save your spot now and send me an email.

My wife and I will both be there.

Greg- did you say the afternoon charters work better for you if Kathy wants to do RecTriox?

Well, we just closed the books on another great trip to Mackinaw City. This was the second year for me, and it won't be the last.

We got out all 4 days but the weather wasn't always cooperating, so we spent more time on shallower, more sheltered wrecks. My only regret is that we did not get out to the Eber Ward. Next year...

This trip marked my introduction to Tom and Kathy. They were great folks. He is very smooth in the water and she handled being unable to dive while on a dive trip much more gracefully than I would have.

Thanks to all involved for their contributions to a great trip: Tom, Kathy, Brett, Doug, Mike, and of course Greg, for running his customary great charter.

Some observations on this year and predictions for next year:

- No one who ate pancakes at the Admiral had a good day on the boat (the new curse?).
- Portable compressors really do run on beer. :)
- Next year Doug will be diving Rockboots.
- Fresh out of new ideas after coming up with the motto and slogan for Shipwreck Adventures, Greg will hold a contest in 2010 for his mission and vision statements.
- The flagpole outside the Rainbow Motel was considerably more accurate than the marine forecast.
- Tony will be back for the 2010 trip. Madison says hi. ;)

I'm kicking myself for not going. I can almost taste the whitefish!

It sounds like it was good trip with great company.

This was my fifth trip to Mackinaw and every time it just keeps getting better. We missed you this year Tony. Next year we were talking about a Mackinaw City/Presque Isle trip. It was amazing but I was able to resist the fudge this year but my big downfall was the ice cream; I think Tom got us started on that. The weather was great and the company was even better. Everyone should think about going on this trip next year!!

You can't blame me for the ice cream!

It was really fun. I started the week diving the straits of Mackinac, and I ended it yesterday diving The Straits of Mackinac. I do regret not being able to see the Eber Ward, but it gives us something to look forward to next year. I talked to Ed Gabe about it, and he sounded interested in coming up for some diving next year.
