One shop in my area does a TON of try scuba sessions with people who want to try diving but aren't sure yet if they want to go whole hog. I'm always telling friends about it, and some of them have done a session. Two more are doing one in August.

It seems like this would be a fantastic opportunity for local shops to introduce potential future customers/divers into diving, yet it seems that most of the shops, at least in my area, aren't interested. Is this lack of enthusiasm for conducting Try Scuba programs common? Just curious.

My previous shop was very enthusiastic about having people do the try SCUBA and got a fair number of converts.

Haven't had a chance to notice yet how my current shop approaches it.

The guys on Table Rock at the State Park Marina Dive Shop seem to do alot of try SCUBAs; and theirs is especially cool because you go out on a boat to a very shallow OW site for it.

That seems like a great idea, Just getting started in it can be kinda expensive. Im just glad Laurie took to it as well as she did so that it wasnt money down the drain :)

My shop (in the Kansas City area) schedules Try SCUBA each month for the Instrs and Dive Cons, plus we do them whenever requested.

I am doing one in my home pool this weekend.

As I posted elese where...the Frau took a Try Scuba yesterday and totally grooved on it...she's scheduled for her OW week after next...also my daughter went with her and renewed her interest in diving...she was up to having two OW dives to get her cert when she stopped due to the cold water...
