We plan to dive the wreck, St. Mary, with a second dive on Fin Seeker this Sunday morning, June 29. Right now we have 3 spots open on this trip.

St. Mary is a 120 ft schooner which is colapsed but mostly intact in 105 ft of water. She sank the same day as Lady Elgin in 1860.

Fin Seeker is a 39 ft modern pleasure/fishing boat that sank just a couple weeks ago. She is intact, resting in about 65 feet of water about 2 miles East of Waukegan harbor. There was a lot of press coverage when it sank with six passengers and the charter captain on board. All were rescued by the Coast Guard but suffered from hypothermia after having been in the water for about half an hour. We have made a couple of dives on this wreck, but there is still a lot of fishing gear which can be an entanglement hazard.

We have cleaned up most of the fishing line and other nuisances.
