First, it is REALLY nice to have a dive site within a half-hour drive! I only had today to dive and needed some bottom time, so Dive Stop in New Melle was just the ticket.
Conditions were acceptable, especially for this season so far. Water temp was 43 F, visibility was about 8-10 ft., and depths are mostly about 35 ft. with an indent near the center of the lake that goes down to 52 ft.
The operator of the facility, Dave, was wonderful, and there are already some decent amenities, including picnic tables covered with canopies, a few new porta-potties, and a new dock.
I'm sure I'll be returning.
