Water temp 45 F pretty much at all depths.

Visibility less than 5 feet. Often much less. At times it was hard to see the bottom when only a foot away from it.

There was a big mud slide that occurred off the back wall during the last storm, and it is taking a while to get settled.

Staying with a buddy was challenging; 3-man teams were close to impossible unless you were also staying on the guide lines. A dive light was a very important buddy tool.

And on the bright side, we had beautiful weather all weekend and BBQ during the surface interval, with many fun-divers in attendance.

I'll be back there next weekend with a class, and will update conditions (hopefully improved) at that time.

The mudslide, is that back there on Spoonbill point, or more towards the west dock area?

There was a smaller one on Spoonbill point. The big one was directly West of the 100' platform on the far side of the quarry.

On a related topic, Haigh had great viz and temps in the low 40's top to bottom.

April 12-13 update:
Friday night and Saturday the viz was even worse than last week, and it was cold, too!

However, this morning the viz was better and it continued to get better each successive dive. This afternoon there was 10 ft. visibility most places, 15 ft. out around the 727, and easily 20 ft. visibility inside the 727. If they can keep the rain away things will be darn good in a week or two.

BTW--the water level is up, about 5 ft. deeper everywhere than last year.
