OK guys, time for another of my famously stupid questions!!!
Here goes: I have gotten my manifold installed and was wondering about something. I know that you are supposed to have and equal amount of distance between the isolator bar and the valve showing. I got everything put together and have .05" difference from one side to the other. So obviously I am wondering if I should take it all back down and try to get it closer? What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance!!

Hmm me thinks you should redo it, needs to be the same distance to not only kep things even pressure but also to be sure you ahve the amount of threads even on both sides. Stress is handled better.

50 thousandths? What the heck are you measuring with, feeler gauges? :)

Lol!! I am using a digital micrometer. Thank you both for the replies. I was not sure if this was something to be worried about or if I was just splitting hairs as usual.
I sure don't want to screw up a brand new manifold!

I'm sure few divers check the measurments with digital mic. 5/100's is pretty minimal. As long as the isolator will move freely back and forth (with the jam nuts loose, of course), the isolator is not in a bind. I would dive it and never give it a second thought.

Ok Steve, sounds good to me. Thanks for the reply. I should be in better shape this year at Mermet!

Do it. Free advice from Greg should not be passed up (seriously).

Thanks to everyone (even MgicTwnger!) for the info and advice. I got a message from Divbum, and he confirmed my thoughts and what most of you had told me. Sounds like I am good to go.
Thanks again.
