I will be running two ice diving classes. The first class will be January 26 & 27 at Lake Wazee in Black River Falls, WI. The second class will be February 9 & 10. Historically, Haigh Quarry opens up the second weekend in February for ice diving. So if there is enough ice, I'll be running a class there. If Haigh is not open, then the class will be at Lake Wazee. I will also look for other possible locations closer to Chicago, like Lake Nagi, and Lannon Quarry.

There will be a lecture at my place a week or two before each class. For those folks who are out of town, we can figure out something remotely. I do not want to do the lecture at Wazee as it will significantly reduce our in-water time and will make for a very busy weekend.

This kind of class is very weather dependent and I will continue to watch the conditions. If needed, I will also look for back up dates. If there are any questions, please PM me.

Update on the second ice diving class. It looks like Feb 23 and 24 will be the dates for the ice class. The class will be at Haigh Quarry. There is a minimum of 2 people required to hold the class and I will take a maximum of 4 students.

This is a PADI class, but more importantly, it is a Duane class. We'll cover everything PADI wants and then some. We will cover lost line/diver procedures, line/buddy awareness, communication and proper dive and gas planning.

There will be three (3) dives for the class spanning two days. We will do lectures at the beginning of each day. Prerequisites are 18 years of age or older and PADI AOW (or equivalent) or higher certification.

PM me if interested.
