Hey guys I am getting nmarried in Jamaica in February and I was wondering if anybody knew of some must see dive sites. I will be on the northcoast for 4 days and the west coast for seven. I know Jamaica isn't exactly a dive destination, but it will be my first ocean diving and I hope to make the most out of it. Thanks in advance:)

Hope others will give you some personal experiences, but you can get a list of PADI dive centers for Jamaica here: http://www.padi.com/padi/common/dcnr_distance/Default.aspx
I would check out some of their websites and perhaps e-mail a couple of them.

Thanks again skull, I have a feeling I will get minimal responses on this. I've done the homework online, but as you probably know, some of the best experirnces are the local ones that are spread by word of mouth or just plain luck.

I did my first ocean diving in Negril and loved. I can honestly say that was where I got bit by the scuba bug. Now that I have been diving other places, I think back and find that Negril was not all that great since I have something else to compare it to. But, if this is your first ocean dive there is no doubt you will love it. These are the only sites I can vouch for.
Middle shore reef - not worth the boat trip - approx 20 - 30' - mainly used for snorklers and resort cert divers. Half dead
Suprise reef - good dive - approx 70 - 80' - rays and turtles
Shark reef - good dive - approx 70 - 80' - rays and turtles
Sorry I couldn't help much more then that .

My wife and I were in Montego Bay a couple of years ago and had some very nice dives. Small rays, a couple of octopus, and a nurse shark. It wasn't "great" diving but I'd go again. The DMs we had were great.

Thanks for the Negril info TC Rain. I will stay away from middle shore reef. I can make what few dives I can get in on my honeymoon really count:)

Jamaica diving doesn't sound too bad, if I get to see one animal I think I will be thrilled, it doesn't take much for me. Thanks Glue huffer!:)

Exactly, you're a new diver, first ocean dives, and on your honeymoon. How can it not be fun?
