It's so quiet here - everyone must be in the same situtation I am - marking off the days until Spring/warm weather. No diving planned here until DUI DOG Days in April, it will still be cool then but..... I hope my gills will make it until then. Then I will start marking off the days until St Lucia - July 22nd. I will definatly do some muck (low vis/local) diving before.
Hang in there it will be warm soon. This doesn't apply to Bob, he is tough and loves the cold weather/water. :) Next year with a dry suit I will be as tough - (I hope).

I may get my first opportunity to ice dive Feb 26th. I'm not brave enough to be the only one diving wet though. I plan on bringing my gear and if there are others there without drysuits I'll maybe take the plunge. Ice is 20-24" thick up here. I'll let you know how it turns out.

No hard and fast plans for me until April, when I get to do a drysuit class.

I have plenty of diving coming up. Looks like I will be at Vortex next weekend, then on the 12th and 13th of March, I will be back at Table Rock to work on my DMC mapping project. The 26th of March, we have our Discover Midwest Diving at Bonne Terre, and then in April, the classes should start rolling along again.

I've been diving once since Project Aware last Fall and that was at the end of January when I went to Cozumel (AWESOME), now I'm like the fish you see washed up on the bank, gasping desperately for water! I did DUI Dog Days last year so I probably won't do it again this year but looking forward to hitting the water again as soon as it warms up enough (for my 5 mil farmer john)! Until then I'm just monitoring the lack of activity on the forums, reading my dive mags, and dreaming of getting wet again!

I was able to get in the water by the end of March last year. We had to wait for all the ice to be gone, and were able to go to Haigh Quarry. I hope to do the same this year.

Nope, I'm from the Central Missouri area and never had the opportunity but it sounds intriguing. Most of my diving has been in the lakes of southern/central Missouri and northern Arkansas. I just did my first saltwater dive in January, I went on a trip to Cozumel with my dive shop, needless to say it was awesome after what I've been accustomed to! I'm very much looking forward to doing my next saltwater dive, hopefully I'll get one in this Summer, if not then next Winter for sure.
I guess diving the Great Lakes is quite an experience, isn't it?

Glad to see others think it is that way too, again. :) I could hear the crack this morning but couldn't see it - looks like Fall weather is here.

Early fall isn't so bad. I did four dives yesterday in southernmost lake Michigan with N'Pursuit. The air was mid 70's and the water was high 60's. I was the only one in a drysuit, and I was sorry I was. The wrecks are shallow, nothing below 55' so I was real toasty.
The big deal for me was trying out my new DiveRite BP/wings. What a great piece of gear! There are a couple of things I have to tinker with to get it where I want it, but nothing major.

I know where TS and a few others were at this weekend, bet they will get a story or a post of some dives up later today or tonight.

It's been quiet for me too- nothing but the sound of my bubbles. I just came back from a weekend of diving at Lake Wazee- we added some new clothepins to our pantyline, saw Jimmy Hoffa, and the new wreck!

That sounds good. I am going to have to get up there one of these days.
