What, what a great time this was. I must admit, I wasnt sure if this was going to be something I would enjoy or not. Just sitting around, talking about diving. But all the information we go on rebreathers, the Missouri Parks river systems, and our very own Slim, who gave a very interesting report on the difference between Florida cave diving and Missouri Cave diving.
The kicker for me, was the dives on Sunday. I FINALLY made it to Cannonball, and wow, was it ever worth the wait. I would say easily 40-50 foot vis, the cave itself was just as good as anything I have seen in Florida. I was able to knock out to dives there with theskull. This is awesome to know I have this in my own back yard. (well, 2.5 hours away, anyway)

Glad you had a good time. I would have liked to hear the comparison between Florida and Missouri caves.

See you can enjoy talking about it as well as doing it. :D

I would have liked to hear the comparison between Florida and Missouri caves.
About 14 degrees difference.
I hated to miss the workshop and diving, but I ended up working all weekend.
Good to hear CB continues to improve, and glad to hear ya'll had some good dives.

I second Bob's report. The workshop was very well presented with a mixture of presentations from NSS-CDS board members (John Jones, John Faircloth, Kelly Jessop, Gene Melton) and local talent including SLIM, Ed Pavey, and a couple local Hyperbaric Physicians who are also recently certified cave divers.
Conditions at Cannonball as good as any I have seen--beautious dives!

I am so glad that everyone that attended had such a great time and the ones that got to stay the extra day or so had so much fun playing in CB. You see we just have to get the word out at what we have but have to be carfull to keep it the pristine way it is. CB is not a training cave for the beginer or for one that has to work on some skills.
Just look how far the CDS has gone in this area in just under a year and what we all have forward to work on. It will be a group effort and show how loarge of a group we are in this area.
Catch you all later .
