I will be there! Which reminds me, are you guys camping, or getting a motel room. If it is a motel, which one are you all staying at? Look foreward to meeting you all.

I'll be there, and am willing to share my pizza.
And I'll be roughing it--most likely at the Metropolis Inn.

I'll be there. I am going to wait and check the weather first, before deciding to pack a tent or get a room.

I like your idea of roughing it - where do I find this Inn?
Thanks

Metropolis Inn is right off highway 24, make a right, and its on the right at the first stop light. There are 4 or 5 hotels right there to choose from. But with the casino there, you might want to make your reservations now. If they bring in some act, the hotels can fill up quickly. I was there one time and got the last room at the Inn, because David Allen Coe was in town. Also, with the Metropolis Inn, ask for the Divers Discount.

OK, everyone tell me what you drink, and I will help The Skull out with the beer! So let's hear it, don't be shy!

Okay.. I'll be there. Going to bring a friend. So thats 2 more.
I see they have cylinders for 10.00 a day. I take it that includes the first air fill? And it looks like they charge 7.00 a fill after that. Do they have any specials like 2 days unlimited fills for 30.00 or anything. I mean hey if we are there to dive I would like to knock out 4 dives a day or so.

Unless things have changed in the last couple of weeks, $10 gets you a full tank for the day, $15 for the weekend, no discount for multiple fills.

A full tank for the day... Does that mean they keep it full for you all day long?

No, you rent a tank, it comes full. Refills you pay for.

WOW! Mermet Inn is 59.07 with taxes? What is wrong with the Day Plaza Inn? It appears to be the cheapest.
Course from what I am reading everyone seems to be staying at the Mermet Inn?

The Day Plaza Inn is a Day's Inn that lost it's franchise because it was such a dump. From all reports it has gotten much worse.
The Metropolis Inn, which is what I believe you are talking about, is the cheapest in town, the Travelodge in Paducah is about $10 cheaper if you don't mind the extra few miles.

Has anyone reserved a pavillion at Mermet?

Now that is the kind of information I can use. :) Guess I'll go with the Mermet Inn. At least that way we are all close by to socialize if the mood strikes eh?

For those wanting a bargain, the Motel 6 in Paducah isn't too shabby. I've stayed there a few times when my favorites (already mentioned) were booked up.

She wasn't going to be there anyway. I will be there, because I committed to it, and I am keeping my commitments. Who ever else is there, I will see you there, and we will have a blast.
Needless to say, this will be the last one I try and set up.

I think a lot of the problem is that we are just too scattered. Any place we pick is convenient for some people and just too long a haul for most.

I'll still bring pizza. Looks like a couple Large might do the trick the way the projected attendance is slipping.

A few large pies will work, but we're not going to let you off the hook for the beer! :D That's the only reason Ken is showing up and not kicking it with his biker buddies.
Who could pass up free beer and pizza?

I hate to break it to you, but no booze allowed at Mermet.

We won't be drinking booze- I'm sure Bill will bring hooch and swill, but not booze.
We could also try alternative beverages, such as Grape Kool Aid, but that might have lasting effects. :D

Needless to say, this will be the last one I try and set up.
I belong to a couple dive clubs and we have found out that during the mid summer most people have other things going on. Early spring around Easter or St. Patricks day are good and then something around Halooween is another good time. Between those times things just don't go. We try and do one local club event per month. Again, early in the year and late in the year are your best bets.
Sorry that I won't make it but class needs to come first.
