Our efforts to find "the Railroad Bridge" were unsuccessful...I believe to inaccurate coordinates...vis wasn't good...once dropping down into the abyss we found ourselves in a dark forest of trees...water was still a bit nippy (others say that my drysuit has turned me into a wuss) I was in a 7 mil...hard to believe I used to dive year round in a 5 mil and was happy about it...

One of the myths about Greers Ferry Lake is the "DEA Helicopter"...legend has it that there was a helicopter recovered by an "Unknown Gov't Agency" and there were bullet holes in the the wind screen...I've also read where this is truly a myth...anywho two weeks ago we found helicopter rotor blades on the bottom of the lake...hmmmmm

this place sounds like a major mystery...I have to get down there one of these months.

6/16 Tim and I are going to begin the exploring of the western end of Greers Ferry Lake near where the Little Red River flows into the lake. A foot recon near the VuDuLounge revealed a wall and that end of the lake is virtually devoid of boat traffic...the eastern/ south eastern part of the lake is the most crouded...GoogleEarth has good definition of the lake however the water is very low when the shots were taken...more later

Also down the road from the Lounge is an old/ closed Army COE camp ground w/ boat ramp...Tim is bringing his party barge and like I said we're going to start checking out some new dive sites...the mornings, as this time of year, the Dive Shop boat is dedication to students and quite full...
